Malamates Papadimitriou began a group in the World Table Tennis Feeder in Kosovo and claims the first and entrance to the “64” board. Elizabeth Terpou suffered a defeat to the five sets in the start and, in conjunction with the second match, no longer hopes for the privileged first place.
In the women’s double, Ioanna Gerasimatou and Bulgaria Maria Yovkova had a winning start and on Wednesday they are fighting for the entrance to the first 16.
The special element of the day, of course, was the Greek … civil. This was the case with the fate that Papadimitriou and Gerasimatou clashed in the groups phase, and the race was of great importance. Papadimitriou won a 3-1 win and thus continues to qualify for the board, on the other hand, Gerasimatou was left out, as she had lost in the morning. George Constantinopoulos also competes on Wednesday in the double mixed qualifiers (his partner), while Yiannis Sgouropoulos will be on the single men’s board directly on the men’s board. The Greek men’s champion in the last four years will meet in the first round a winner from the qualifying groups.
Eight qualifying groups were made in the ordinary women. Papadimitriou (head) and Gerasimatou were together in the sixth. After 1-1, the third set was judged on the limit, while in the fourth set, Gerasimatou took a two-point lead and her teammate in the national team managed to go 10-6. Evolution: 12-10, 4-11, 11-9 and 11-7.
On Wednesday, Papadimitriou plays for the first time with Christobal. At 12:10 pm Greece the match is made on table 4. Gerasimatou is excluded in third place.
Terpou entered the first group loudly and gave an ambiguous clash with the Chilean Valentina Rio. It took a 2-1 lead, in the end it bent 3-2 and the fifth set ended with the minimum difference (10-12, 11-7, 11-9, 5-11, 9-11). The chances of qualifying were “erased” in the next race because Rio won 3-0 and the group leader, Indi Harden Pald.
Terpou has another match on Wednesday with Paul. Is set for 11:35 on table 1.
The Game Secretariat explained to all athletes that the board reports the “64”, but to men and women will continue “48” and so only the first and the first of the groups will be qualified.
The women’s double began with a qualifying dashboard of ’16.
