Aircraft carrying 20 people crashed on Sunday in American Tennesseewith several passengers being transported by helicopters to hospitals, according to local authorities.

“According to the first reports, 16 to 20 people were aboard it,” he wrote on the Police Police Police Department responsible for road safety in this southern US state, saying it helped law enforcement authorities “at the site of the aircraft crash”.

The US Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, FAA, confirmed the incident, saying that the aircraft, a Haviland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, crashed shortly after departing from Tulachoma Regional Airport in Tennessee, around 12.45 local time (20.45).

“Twenty people were on the plane,” he said, announcing a investigation.

According to local media, the plane was used to train paratroopers.
