It is recalled that in the context of the Summit, o Kyriakos Mitsotakis agreed with the French presidentEmanuel Macron, the mission of a humanitarian operation to evacuate the residents of Mariupol who want it.
In fact, Macron later announced that the operation would begin in the coming days, in cooperation with Greece and Turkey.
He added that for this humanitarian operation, specific discussions are starting with the mayor of Mariupol, but also in cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities, while negotiations will be held with the Russian side.
“The sooner the better,” said the French president, expressing hope that the operation, which they will try to complete in the coming days, will have the best possible result.
Em. Macron noted that today in Mariupol there are only 150,000 inhabitants left, who live in dramatic conditions.
