The new round of US-Iran talks on Tehran’s nuclear program, scheduled for tomorrow Sunday in Muscat, will not take place, Oman Foreign Minister Badr Albusidi announced today.

Oman is a mediator in the US-Iranian negotiations.

This development comes after the unprecedented Israeli attack on Iran – with Israeli raids that killed Iranian commanders and scientists and hit nuclear facilities in an Israeli operation with a declared target of the Islamic Republic.

Earlier today, Tehran announced that the Washington dialogue on its nuclear program is “unnecessary” after Israeli attacks. He noted, however, that he had not yet decided whether to participate in talks scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday.

A US official said earlier today that the US is “hoping” to continue negotiations with Iran.

Iran had accused the US earlier for complicity in Israel’s attacks, but Washington denied the charge and told Tehran at the UN Security Council that it would be “prudent” to negotiate for his nuclear program.

Iran states that the uranium enrichment program has only non -military purposes, rejecting Israeli accusations of developing secret nuclear weapons.

US President Donald Trump told Reuters that he and his team knew that Israeli attacks were involved, but noting that they were still seeing that there was room for an agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program.
