Iran is ready to defend “with all the necessary means,” Iranian diplomacy spokesman said after US attacks on Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

“Iran is determined to defend its sovereignty, its territorial integrity, its national security and its population with all the necessary means,” Emil Bayai wrote in X, condemning “an unacceptable attack committed by a nuclear state”.

Revolutionary guards today threatened the US with “retaliation that will make them regret” after US raids on three major Iranian nuclear facilities, warning of attacks on US military bases in the area.

Iran “will use options beyond the realm of understanding (…) of the attacker’s camp and the attackers against this land must be waiting for retaliation that will make them regret,” the guards said in a statement broadcast on state television.

“Attacked in peaceful nuclear facilities (US forces) have put themselves in immediate danger,” the guards said.

Washington has many bases around the Persian Gulf, such as in Bahrain and Qatar. Some are in a relatively close location with Iran, which can make these US bases for retaliation targets from Tehran.

About 40,000 US troops are currently parked throughout the area.

The guards also pledged to continue to launch attacks on Israel.
