The President of France, Emmanuel Macronhe said he wishes for French electronic music to be described as UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. The country’s contribution to electronic music, often referred to as a “French touch”, includes landmarks by artists such as Daft Punk, Justice, Air, Cassius, Phoenix, étienne de Crécy, M83 and Alan Braxe.
UNESCO, the United Nations Organization that promotes peace and security through culture, arts and sciences, publishes a list of intangible cultural heritage, which aims to protect “practices, representations, expressions, knowledge and skills that the communities recognize as part of their cultures” Reggae, Mexican Mariachi and Cuban Rube.
