Republican Senator Markwwwain Malin said today that, in his view, children born in the US by parents of irregular migrants should be deported with their family, as long as adults are deported.

Malin answered a question from the NBC television network on the Meet The Press television network on the ruling issued by the Supreme Court on Friday, which paved the way for some states to be implemented in some states by President Donald Trump’s executive decree.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court did not rule the legality of Trump’s decree, which would abolish the historical practice that automatically grants American citizenship to anyone born in the US, regardless of the migration status of its parents.

Journalist Kristen Welker asked Malin what would happen to children born in the US if their parents are deported, as these children, under the legislation in force so far, are American citizens.

“Well, they should go where their parents are. Why not send a child with his parents? I mean, why do you want to split them? ” The senator replied.

Friday’s decision has confused immigrants and those who support them, as they find it difficult to understand what the consequences will be in practice if the law is true for newborns in some states, but not in others.
