London: Russians accidentally shoot down their own fighter in Ukraine – Low morale in Russian forces

by

Russian forces shot down their own fighter jet in Ukraine, as Vladimir Putin’s “personal war” is hampered by arms shortages, soldiers refusing to obey orders and sabotaging their own equipment, Sir Jeremy Fleming, head of the British intelligence service, said on Wednesday.

Fleming stressed that it was becoming increasingly clear that the Russian president had “greatly misjudged” the situation in Ukraine.

“We have seen Russian soldiers without weapons and morale. And although we believe Putin’s advisers are afraid to tell him the truth, what is happening and the extent of these misconceptions must be clear to the regime,” he said.

“We now see Putin trying to carry out his plan. But it fails. And his Plan B consists of more barbarism against civilians and cities. “Many Ukrainians and Russians are being killed in this unnecessary war.”

According to the State Department, Putin made a strategic mistake by overestimating his army’s ability to win a quick victory in the war against Ukraine with his advisers afraid to tell him the truth.
