The violent conflicts between communities in the South Syrian province, where the population is mostly Druzo, claimed life at least 1,311 people Within a week, from June 13th to the ceasefire that came into force on Sunday, according to the latest report released Tuesday by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The organization explained that it gathered evidence for other deaths before the truce came into force.
The dead are 533 fighters and 300 citizens belonging to the Druzon community (a total of 833 members of this community), of which 196 “were executed by summary procedures” by members of the forces of “the Ministries of Defense and the Interior”.
On the other hand, 423 members of the government forces and 35 Bedouin Sunnis were killed, including three civilians who were “executed by brief procedures by Druze fighters”, according to the organization, based in London and is based on a wide network of sources in Syria.
At the same time, fifteen members of the de facto government forces were killed in Israeli bombings, always according to the NGO.
The previous report released by this source spoke of 1,260 dead.
During the conflict, Israel, saying that it wanted to protect the Druze’s minority, bombed the positions of the government forces in the suede and facilities of the new regime in Damascus, to force authorities to withdraw their forces from the province.
The ceasefire came into force after the departure of Bedouin fighters and these various tribes from the homonymous city that is the capital of the province.
