India Prime Minister Narendra Monti today denied that US President Donald Trump negotiated peace with Pakistan during the recent crisis between the two countries, saying that no foreign leader had asked New Delhi to end.
The two nuclear forces were involved in clashes last May, for four days, until Trump announces a ceasefire between the two neighboring countries.
“No foreign leader asked us to end the business,” Monty said today in Parliament during a meeting on “Sindoor” against Pakistan, without mentioning Donald Trump’s name.
The head of the Indian government also confirmed that Pakistan begged India to stop after “the pressure of our attacks”.
This armed conflict, during which the two countries exchanged attacks with a shore, rocket throws and jumps from the artillery, with more than 70 dead in the two camps, has been the most deadly for decades.
The attack, on April 22, against Hindu tourists, by three men who killed 26 people in Indian Kashmir, caused this war, with New Delhi blaming Islamabad, which categorically rejected them.
Donald Trump has repeatedly argued that he had negotiated peace between the two countries.
“If I were not there, we would have had six big war on the moment. India would fight with Pakistan, “he repeated yesterday in the presence of British Prime Minister Kir Starmer in Scotland.
Monty’s statement came after Rahul Gandhi of Congress’s opposition party caused the Indian prime minister to say “within Parliament that Donald Trump is lying”.
Earlier today, Interior Minister Amy Athy Sach announced to MPs that the three armed Pakistanis involved in the attack on Indian Kashmir were killed in a military operation yesterday.
