Israeli forces apply to Gauze strip A “failed and militarized” aid distribution system that converts this humanitarian business “into a real blood bath” and into a “death trap”, denounced the report in a report Human Rights Observatory (HRW).
“The murders of the Israeli Palestinian forces seeking help are a war crime,” the non -governmental organization added in the report it published today.
“The devastating humanitarian situation (in Gaza) is an immediate impact of Israel’s use as a weapon of war – a war crime – as well as the deliberate and continuing obstruction of humanitarian aid and basic services,” the HRW stressed.
After 22 months of destructive war, which erupted after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip is threatened by a “generalized famine”, according to the UN and is completely dependent on humanitarian aid.
Israel partially relaxed in late May the complete exclusion of the Palestinian enclave in early March, which led to serious shortages of food, medicines and other essentials.
“Many victims occur almost daily in the four aid distribution centers managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF),” an organization supported by the US and Israel with which international organizations refuse to work together.
“At least 859 Palestinians have been killed as they were trying to get food from these GHF centers from May 27 to July 31, most of the Israeli army, according to the UN,” HRW said.
“The Israeli forces not only deliberately cause the starvation of the Palestinian civilians in Gaza, but they shoot almost daily those who are looking for desperate food for their families,” Belkis Wile’s deputy director of the Crisis Department complained.
“The Israeli forces, with the support of the US and private entrepreneurs, have created a failed and militarized humanitarian aid distribution system that turns distribution businesses into real blood baths,” she added.
This US -backed “trap of death” “must be abandoned,” HRW insisted.
