The Russian Ministry of Justice has announced that it has been undesirable the international non -governmental organization for freedom of the press, journalists without borders (Reporters without Borders / RWB, Reporters Sans Frontières / RSF), based in France.
Russia regularly characterizes organizations that, he says, undermine its national security as “unwanted”.
This designation means that Russian citizens who cooperate or fund such organizations face up to five years in prison.
Organizations already described as undesirable include Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, funded by the US government, the international environmental organization Greenpeace and London -based Amnesty International.
The Non -Governmental Organization The Journalists Without Borders (RSF) was founded in France in 1985, defends journalists and struggles against censorship worldwide.
The RSF did not immediately respond to a request for annotation.
The organization ranked Russia in 171st from 180 countries in the global freedom of freedom this year and has recorded 50 journalists held in the country.
