In the heart Any future permanent peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will be some kind of security guarantees, with the aim of preventing Russia from attacking Ukraine again, the BBC said in an analysis.

Until now, the US has been reluctant to make any commitment in this direction, leaving the issue in Britain and France with the so -called “coalition of their willing”. But after Monday’s talks at the White House, US President Donald Trump said these security guarantees could be satisfied by European nations in ‘Coordination with the United States’, The British network analyst Frank Gardner. The issue of guarantees remains cloudy.

So what form could they receive? There are 4 scenarios:

‘Arvies on the ground’: That is, land troops. This is considered the least likely scenario. Donald Trump considers this war as a European problem. To dispose of land troops, even in a peaceful role, in a conflict that dislikes deeply would mean a significant attitude change.

Air and maritime patrols: This is a more likely scenario. The US has already operated surveillance flights to monitor the course of war. But there is a huge difference between a recognition flight or a maritime patrol without a confrontation and an armed conflict with a nuclear power such as Russia.

Information: US satellite and aerial information have proved to be vital to help Ukraine to halt the advance of Russian forces. In the event of a peace agreement that will be agreed by all sides, this is an area in which the US will probably be willing to help.

Logistics: Whatever the form of the “exposure force” in Ukraine under the leadership of the United Kingdom/France in the event of a peacekeeping agreement, it will take a lot of logistics support – and this is an area in which Washington will probably be happy to help.
