by

The United States today imposed new economic sanctions on five North Korean entities accused of being “directly linked” to the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles by Pyongyang, which in late March violated a 2017 moratorium on such throwing.

This third series of US sanctions against North Korea since March targets the North Korean missile development ministry and its four auxiliary agencies.points out the US Treasury Department in a press release.

These entities have supported the development of Pyongyang’s weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in violation of numerous UN Security Council resolutions, the statement said, noting that North Korea has and an intercontinental on March 24.

These “challenging” tests represent “a clear threat to regional and global security”said US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in a press release.

“The United States is committed to using all possible sanctions to respond to the persistent development of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles by North Korea,” she said, welcoming the sanctions announced by Japan today.
