Russian troops have bombed a regional hospital in the town of Balakeya in the Kharkiv region and about 70 doctors and patients are in need of evacuation, local authorities say, according to the Ukrinform news agency.
“The building has been partially damaged. Patients and staff need immediate evacuation, approximately 70 patients and medical staff. “We are doing everything we can to save people,” he said.
According to local authorities, this is another war crime against civilians in the Kharkiv region. He recalled that Balakeia was temporarily occupied by the invaders.
“The bombing of the civilian population by Russia is an attempt by the occupiers to accuse the Ukrainian Armed Forces of attacking civilians, another cynical lie of Russian propaganda and military provocation,” he said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had said Russia was preparing to launch new bombings in the Donbas region and in the city of Kharkov.
