US President Donald Trump commented on Wednesday the violation of the Polish airspace by Russian drones, following Warsaw’s announcement that it had overthrown unmanned aircraft.
In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump wrote: “What is the problem with Russia that violates Poland’s airspace with drones? Let’s go. “
This statement came a few hours after the serious incident, which led Poland to activate Article 4 of NATO and convene consultations with the allies.
NATO fighter aircraft rose many Russian drones on Wednesday morning that violated Poland’s airspace during an attack on neighboring Ukraine in an evolution that the alliance described as “absolutely dangerous” and raising the new level.
The business marks the first time NATO has been using a fire since the start of the war in Ukraine. According to the announcements, Polish and Dutch fighters intercepted the drones, with the assistance of the Italian, German and multinational forces of the Alliance.
Speaking to the Polish Parliament, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that, although we cannot say that Poland is in war, the country is “closer to conflict than ever after World War II”. As he said, Poland faces an “enemy that does not hide its hostile intentions”.
Tusk also announced that Poland has activated Article 4 of NATO, which provides for the convening of the main political body’s decision -making of the Alliance on consultations on the situation and the next steps.
