Five F-35s of the US Air Force landed on Saturday in Puerto Rico, a few days after President Donald Trump’s order to develop 10 stealth fighters on this American soil in the Caribbean to boost operations against drug cartels and drug cartels.
The F-35s landed on the former Roosevelt Road military base in Seiba in Puerto Rico, photographer Ricky Ardongo, who is working with the news agency, told Reuters.
In recent days, military helicopters and Osprey aircraft have also been seen in the area, and on Monday, US Defense Minister Pete Hegsez visited Puerto Rico.
Announcing his plans to develop additional military forces in the area, Trump had said that the US government was not talking about a regime change in Venezuela.
Last week, US Armed Forces hit a speedboat allegedly carrying drugs killing 11 occupants described as members of the Tren de Aragua gang, which denied the Caracas.
Last Saturday, the Venezuelan government denounced illegal detention for eight hours of a fishing vessel by a US warship within its exclusive economic zone.
