As part of his patriarchal and apostolic visit to the United States, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization, Antonio Guterres, at the last headquarters of the latter at the last New York.
The Secretary -General warmly welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch, while the discussion focused on issues of common interest, such as initiative for Dialogue between peoples, religions and cultures.
Sev was also present at the meeting. Archbishop of America Elpidoforos, Sev. Metropolitan of Laodicea Theodoritos, Sev. Metropolitan Silibria Maximus and Panosiol. Grand Ecclesiastical Aetios.
Earlier, the Ecumenical Patriarch danced in Doxology in the Greek Orthodox Church and the National Pilgrimage of St. Nicholas at Zero in Manhattan.
During his speech, he referred to ‘perpetual ‘mission of the sanctuary of St. Nicholas, explaining that the huge crowd “We are all citizens … of a land that is the home of us all.”
