Cities of southern China have been fortified in recent days as the Superfed “Ragasa”approaches its shores. Schools and businesses have been closed, flights have been canceled and the whole area is preparing for one of the most powerful hurricanes of recent years who has already killed three people and has led to the displacement of thousands of others in the Philippines.

The Hong Kong Observatory said that the superfront, which is blowing with maximum continuous winds of about 220 km/h, is expected to move west-northwest at a speed of about 22 km/h in the north of the southern China sea as it approaches the Coast of the Guy.

China’s National Meteorological Center predicted that the hurricane would reach the coastal area between the cities of Zuhai and Zanjiang in Guangdong around Wednesday afternoon.

Having already emitted a signal for strong winds expected, the Hong Kong Observatory will issue a warning signal for number 8, the third highest in the city’s alarm system on Tuesday afternoon. It recorded wind speeds of 84 miles/hour (135 km/h) near the ground about 120 km from the center of the hurricane, indicating a widespread hurricane.

The water level is projected to increase by about 2 meters above the coastal areas in the Asian Economic Center on Wednesday morning with the maximum water level in some areas likely to reach 4-5 meters above the standard lower sea level.

Residents living in flood -prone areas have already placed sacks with sand and dams on their doors, While others have put on strips and cardboard windows and doors to protect themselves from strong winds. A lot of people have saved food and daily supplies.
