President Donald Trump said on Friday that he ordered the declassification and disclosure of all US government archives related to the disappearance of the aviation pioneer Amelia Earhartwhich disappeared while attempting a flight around the world in 1937.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the mystery around Earhart’s last flight has “Captivate the interest of millions of people.”
“I order my government to declassify and publicize all the government records related to Amelia Earhart, her last trip and everything else concerns her,” said Trump.
Earhart, the first woman to cross the Atlantic on her own, disappeared over the Pacific Ocean with her navigator Fred Nunan. Despite extensive investigations and speculation decades, no trace of the aircraft has never been found.
Trump’s sudden focus on decades of mystery comes as it faces increasing criticisms to hide documents associated with convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Estine, commenting on Reuters.
Trump has delayed the complete publication of Estain’s archives, turning the issue into a major political issue. Although it has urged its supporters not to deal with the issue, the desire to disclose details of Estain’s crimes, remains high.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Justice published a ‘First Phase’ File -related files, but much of the material had already been published or had extensive treatment.
Trump has admitted that he was socially aware of Estain, but claims that they had a dispute years before his death in prison in 2019.
A few hours before Trump’s post, the Democrats of the House of Representatives announced that they had revealed more records related to Estain, which reported by billionaire Tesla’s chief executive, Masculinethe former Trump adviser, Steve Banonand the billionaire of technology, Peter Thill.
Trump has also ordered the disclosure of other government records, including large lots of documents related to the murder of the president John F. Kennedy in 1963 and his murder Martin Luther King Junior In 1968.
