Donald Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom and King Charles’ intervention are said to have played a decisive role in the spectacular change of US president’s attitude to the war in Ukraine, the British Independent said.
This week, the US president passed through that Kiev would have to give territories to the position that Ukraine could recover all the territories occupied by Russia after 2022.
Ukrainian President’s head of the office, Adriy Germak, revealed that Trump’s official visit to the United Kingdom played a decisive role in changing his attitude. Asked if the Ukrainian delegation persuaded Trump, he replied: “I would like to say that it was an excellent visit by President Trump to the United Kingdom, and I know the position of the Great, the position of Prime Minister Starmer and the people who met the president.”
King Charles referred to the war in Ukraine during the official dinner quoted in honor of Trump in Windsor Castle, the British media notes.
“Our countries have the closest relationship that has ever been in the field of defense, security and secret services,” Charles said.
“In two world wars, we fought together to defeat the forces of tyranny. Today, as tyranny again threatens Europe, we and our allies are standing united on the side of Ukraine, to prevent aggression and to ensure peace. “
