Minervagracht cargo ship, with Dutch flag, is burned and drifted into Aden’s trick today Tuesday, a day after an attack that was injured, two sailors were injured, forcing the crew to evacuate, his operator and EU Aspides naval mission said.

It is not clear at present whether the ship has become the target of Yemen’s Houthi.

If confirmed, it will be Houthi’s first attack on a merchant ship since September 1st.

Minervagracht sailed off Djibouti, with 19 crew members without a load when the explosion occurred, Spriethoff, a company managed by the ship, based in Amsterdam, said.

“Minervagracht has suffered significant damage,” the company said in a statement, adding that the entire crew had exchanged the ship safely and working with international authorities and experts to rescue the ship.

Most of the crew, including one of the injured seafarers, who is in stable condition, were transferred to a Greek and a French frigate, ASPIDES Naval Mission said Tuesday.

Another crew member, who was seriously injured, was removed by helicopter and everyone has reached Djibouti.
