The primary difficulty in implementing the war ending plan in Gaza, announced yesterday by President Trump, is to secure Hamas’ positive response. Once the organization says the big “yes”, then Israel and Hamas will be called upon to determine the starting point of the first 72 hours of the implementation of the plan, during which all the hostages will be released, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and heavy prisoners – from most of the coastal zone of the pocket.

Establishment of International Stabilization Force

Subsequently, a multinational police force will be set up, which will consist in principle by uniforms, Emirates and Indonesian mercenaries. At the same time, the Hamas members will be called upon to hand over their weapons to the multinational power and, after declaring their intention to live in harmony with their fellow citizens in Gaza, will be rendered amnesty and the right to voluntarily depart for abroad (but not to the West). It is also foreseen to form a non -distinctive, apolitical Palestinian government of technocrats, who will govern the enclave under the supervision of the “Peace Council” led by President Trump. Other foreign leaders and international personalities will also be invited to participate in the Council, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The ultimate objective of the plan will be to render the pocket of the enclave to the Palestinian Authority, but as it undertakes institutional reforms and a “disgusting” of its society.

The impression, however, gives the fact that the plan lacks specific timetables – with the exception of the first 72 hours of its implementation. There are also no specific deadlines for the completion of Israeli withdrawal, raising reasonable questions, even when, according to leaks reported by the State Israeli radio today, the Philadelphia axis between Gaza and Egypt will remain under Israeli control.

Israel: Positive reactions major reaches

However, despite the obvious ambiguities, the echo of the plan announced a strong climate of optimism in Israel. At the political level, in addition to Likund executives, the overall religious parties of the opposition were in favor of the plan. Most of the reactions in the opposition are also positive. Benny Gads described the plan as “an opportunity that should not be lost”, while the formerly critical of Netanyahu, General Ea. Gandhi Eisenkot assures that he will support the government if needed. On the other hand, MPs of the left -wing party “Democrats”, while criticizing Netanyahu of deliberate stubbornness, were in favor of the plan.

On the contrary, the leader of the center -left opposition, Yair Lapid, still retains his silence. However, more deafening is the silence of Itamar Ben-Gvir, who has chosen this time to leave the lead on the like-minded finance minister, Betsalel Smotric, who, with an angry post on social media, said, among other things that ” guarantees of foreign forces for national security. ” It is for him a “unforgivable” that the plan prohibits any form of annexation and settlement of Gaza, pushing Smotric to leave open the possibility of his departure from the Netanyahu government.

However, hostage relatives, for their part, call the plan to “hope for hope”, and yesterday the indicators of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rise between 3% and 6%.

The fluid climate, however, remains as long as Hamas is delayed to announce her final answer.
