Tamir Nibrodi was abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023, through his home. For two years his fate has been ignored as he is the only Israeli hostage whose family had not been informed whether he is alive or dead.
His mother, Herut Nimronti, told the BBC that he was “scared for the worst” but has a “real hope” that US President Donald Trump’s peace plan will bring the return of all hostages held in Gaza.
For Tamir’s son, he can only hope that he is alive, that he “still stands” two years after his abduction.

The last time he saw Tamir was in a video of his abduction, published on social media on October 7, 2023.
“My youngest daughter – she was 14 years old then – she was screaming on Instagram that she had seen her brother fall down,” she remembered.
“I saw Tamir wearing his pajamas. It was barefoot. He didn’t wear glasses. It is hard to see without them. He was terrified. “
Since then, it has no sign of life.
‘It is the only Israeli hostage without any indication of what happened or exactly where it is“, He said.
But even if her son is dead, his mother appeals to return his body through the liberation of all hostages – dead or living.
“Even the families who received the message that their loved ones have died, do not accept it because they need evidence,” he said.
Tamir is one of the 47 hostages who were abducted on October 7 and who remain in Gaza – 20 of them are believed to be still alive.
