Israel also liberated the approximately 2,000 Palestinians who had agreed to release under the deal under the deal by US President Donald Trump, according to Palestinian authorities.

Under the terms of the agreement, 154 Palestinian prisoners were deported to Egypt, at the request of Israel, which cited security reasons. The departed includes Mahmoud Isa, Commander of the Brigades of Al Casham, the Hamas armed arm, who was released after more than 30 years in prison. The departed will remain in Egypt before being transferred to other countries.
The Palestinian authorities called on the population “to welcome prisoners as heroes”.
