Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in a post on the X social media platform on Thursday that he spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump in preparation for the US-Russia summit scheduled to take place in Budapest.
“Preparations for the US-Russia summit are underway,” Orban said, without elaborating.

Trump earlier said he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Hungarian capital to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
Earlier, Orban welcomed Trump’s announcement that he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The planned meeting between the American and Russian presidents is excellent news for the peaceful peoples of the world. We are ready!” Orbán wrote on his platform X account.
