New York Republican Party officials they voted on Friday in her favor suspension of the branch of the New Republicans, after the publication of racist and anti-Semitic messages exchanged among team members, offering a revealing look at how some of its rising executives communicate privately Grand Old Party.

“Today, the Executive Committee of Republican New York State Commission voted unanimously to suspend its New Republican State of New Yorkfollowing reports of a group chat that contained racist and anti-Semitic language from the leadership,” party chairman Ed Cox said, adding that “this disgusting language has no place in our party or its affiliates.”

In a formal notice to the Young Republican National Federation, a political organization for Americans ages 18 to 40, Cox left open the possibility that the suspension could be lifted indefinitely.

“Moving forward, the New York State Republicans will remain suspended, and the State Committee hopes that they will be able to reconstitute at a later date,” the notice reads.

The committee that voted unanimously in favor of the suspension is made up of 62 county chairmen and elected committee members.

The vote came in response to a Politico report that revealed leaked messages on the Telegram app between New Republican leaders across the country. The messages allegedly contained racist and homophobic slurs, as well as praise for Adolf Hitler.

Many of the messages reported by Politico were attributed to New York Republican New York leaders.

The conversations are shocking

In one of the conversations, a leading member of the organization reportedly tried to persuade other members to vote him into national office, writing:

“Anyone who votes no goes to the gas chamber.”

Another member replied:

“Can we fix the showers? Gas chambers don’t fit Hitler’s aesthetic.”

A third added:

“I’m ready to see people burn now.”

The disbanding of the New York chapter of the New Republicans is the latest disciplinary action taken following the Politico revelations.

After the report was published on Tuesday, some of those involved lost their government positions.

In addition, the Kansas Republican Party condemned comments made at the talks by members of the Young Republicans of Kansas and announced that the organization had been placed on inactive status.

The New Republican National Council said in a social media post that it was “shocked by the vulgar and unwarranted language” revealed in the leaked messages, adding that such behavior was unbecoming of any Republican, calling on those involved to resign from their local chapter positions.

Some Republican elected officials also condemned the messages, including Rep. Michael Lawler, who said on social media that he was disgusted by the anti-Semitism and racism revealed in the messages.

Rep. Elise Stefanik said elected Republicans rightly condemned the horrific statements and showed responsibility, but criticized Democrats for over-dramatizing an “article-attack.”

During his appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Wednesday, Vice President J. D. Vance appeared to downplay the incident, calling the messages “sharp, offensive jokes” made by “kids”.

Reacting to the New Republican messages, both Stefanik and Vance referred to 2022 messages sent by Democratic candidates in Virginia that purportedly described the assassination of a former state House speaker.

Vance said those messages were far worse than those of the New Republicans, and that he refuses to participate in the moral panic when powerful people promote political violence.
