The British Maritime Security Company Ambrey reported on Saturday that it is aware of an incident off its Ahuar coast Yemeniwithout giving any other information.

The incident, according to Yemeni media, reportedly involved a Comoros-flagged livestock ship that was attacked by unknown assailants on board a wooden boat.

According to several shipping sources, the attackers opened fire with light weapons as the ship sailed north through the Red Sea.

The UK Maritime Operations Office (UKMTO) also received reports of two explosions near the ship during the attack.

The Yemeni Coast Guard, which is linked to the Houthis, temporarily detained the ship due to concerns that its AIS tracking system was disabled.

According to a Yemeni shipping official cited by Reuters, the ship was released after an inspection.

No injuries were reported and the ship continued on its way.

However, maritime authorities recommend increased vigilance for all ships sailing through the area, especially those carrying livestock or valuable cargo.

This latest incident highlights the volatile security environment in Yemeni territorial waters and the growing risks to international maritime trade in the region.
