Mariupol Mayor: The Russians turned our city into a “new Auschwitz”

by

The mayor of Mariupol compares the horror in his besieged city to a Nazi concentration camp.

In a statement Wednesday, Mayor Vadim Bochenko said people were seeing the magnitude of a tragedy like the one in Mariupol since the Nazi concentration camps.

Russian fascists turned our whole city into a death campÏ… “stressed.

More specifically, the mayor of the besieged Ukrainian port of Mariupol compared the city to a Nazi concentration camp, describing the image he presents with a “new Auschwitz or Maidanek».

“Unfortunately, this terrifying ratio seems to be confirmed day by day. It is no longer Chechnya or Aleppo. This is the new Auschwitz and Maidanek. People should help punish Putin’s bad guys.”

Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from the city since the Russian invasion.

Mariupol had a pre-war population of over 400,000 inhabitants.

Ukrainian officials say about 100,000 people remain trapped in the urgent need to leave.

The city has been razed to the ground after weeks of bombings and Russian forces have not allowed evacuation buses to approach it.
