Turkish newspaper Milliyet reports that Turkey is preparing to sign up for Eurofighters.
In its front-page topic, as SKAI correspondent Manolis Kostidis reports from Istanbul, next week “the British Prime Minister will travel to Ankara together with the head of the Armed Forces and the head of the Royal Air Force”.
And he implies that the purchase of Eurofighters from Ankara will probably be announced.
Director of Milliyet: “Greece with the Rafale has gained supremacy, Turkey is trying to close this gap”
At the same time, the director of the Milliyet newspaper, Ozai Sendir, in his article explains the plans of the Turkish air force and notes, among other things, that “Greece with the Rafale has gained supremacy” and that “Turkey is trying to close this gap”.
He characteristically declares: “The AESA radar and the Meteor missiles of the aircraft (Eurofighter) will end the supremacy that Greece has acquired from the Rafale aircraft it bought from France.
They will also offer a formidable range advantage over Israel, which has no Meteor missiles in its inventory.
As we mentioned earlier, Turkey has set a golden ratio for air defense until a sufficient number of Kaan missiles enter the stockpile.
This proportion consists of 40 Eurofighters, 40 F-35s and 40 F-16 Block 70s.
Taking into account the 24 Rafale that Greece has bought from France, the F-16s that it has upgraded to Block 70 level and the 20 plus 20 F-35s that it will buy from the US, a total of 40, it becomes clear that the golden ratio set by Turkey is necessary.”
