France will deliver Aster anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine “within the next few days” as well as Mirage fighter jets, President Emmanuel Macron announced in a video conference of Kiev allies.

“We will deliver in the next few days additional Aster missiles, new Mirage and new training programs,” Macron said, without elaborating.

France has so far given Ukraine three of the six Mirage 2000s it had promised, mainly for the training needs of Ukrainian pilots. One of them was shot down in July.

The Aster 15 and 30 missiles are manufactured in collaboration with Italy and operate with the SAMP/T MAMBA air defense system, the Italo-French counterpart of the US PATRIOT system. The two European countries have given an unspecified number of missiles to the Ukrainians, but they are asking for more for their defense.

“It is very important to continue the effort to support Ukraine and the pressure on Russia,” Macron stressed to the leaders of the Alliance of the Ready.

This meeting is co-chaired by Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Rutte: The Tomahawk mission to Ukraine remains on the table

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Friday that he had discussed with US President Donald Trump the issue of sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, which “remains under review”.

“Regarding the Tomahawks, of course, we discussed it with the president. The matter is still under review by the president, and as I have said before, it is up to the US to decide,” Rutte said.

He added that it is the responsibility of each ally to decide what weapons to deliver to Ukraine, stressing that the United States “provides and will continue to provide a wide range of weapons systems.”

Rutte flew to London to meet with the leaders of the “Alliance of the Willing,” a group of countries that militarily support Ukraine.
