A small group of Ukrainian soldiers who were in the United States before the Russian invasion of Ukraine are being trained to use the Switchblade drones – called “kamikaze” drones – that Washington supplies to Kyiv, a senior Pentagon official said today.

The official was questioned about statements made the previous day during a congressional hearing by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who said the United States was training Ukrainian soldiers to use weapons outside his own country.
“Some are being trained here in the United States,” said U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Mark Miley, without elaborating.
Yesterday, the US Secretary of Defense stated that Washington will send to Ukraine as soon as possible this variant of the unmanned Switchblade aircraft with anti-tank warhead.
