Britain: 12-year-old raped – She committed suicide when a police officer discouraged her from suing

by

The case of 12-year-old Semina Halliwell in Britain is shocking.

According to an interview with her mother on Sky News, the 12-year-old was raped by a classmate and committed suicide immediately after giving testimony to the authorities as a police officer discouraged her from filing a criminal complaint, not giving due importance to her complaint.

Semina Halliwell, who had autism, said she was raped by an older boy at the same school as her and persuaded her by talking to her on Snapchat to meet him secretly.

Her mother, Rachel Halliwell, contacted police after Semina told her mother what had happened after she had previously seriously injured herself.

However, Merseyside police officers “made Semina feel she was bothering them,” according to two family members who were present at the deposition, and so no charges were ever brought against the boy.

Rachel, along with Semina’s aunt Claire Halliwell, said the chief detective “sat there and started whining about all the forms he would have to fill out if a 12-year-old made the complaint, stressing how long it would take him to complete them.”

The detective “told Semina that basically, it is her reason against him and asked her if she really wants this case to” hang over her head “for a long time since there would be no trial earlier than 18 months to two years.
