At least 104 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli shelling so far this morning. Donald Trump stressed that his plan for Gaza will be implemented at all costs. Response

Amid mutual recriminations between Israel and Hamas, the cease-fire in Gaza was re-imposed from today at 10 am local time (and Greek time), after 17 hours of heavy ground clashes and Israeli shelling.

Specifically, from yesterday evening (28/10), throughout the night and until a few minutes before 10 am, the Israeli air force struck Hamas positions, neutralizing at least 30 of its members, according to a statement from the Israeli army. The ground clashes started yesterday afternoon in the outskirts of Rafah, in Khan Younis and in the Sajaiya and Zaitoun districts of Gaza City. Hamas forces fired anti-tank fire at Israeli forces, killing one reservist and injuring an as yet unspecified number. There was also a report by the Israeli military that members of the group attacked, coming out of tunnels.

Gaza hospitals announced that at least 104 Palestinians have died from Israeli bombardment since yesterday evening until today’s dawn.

Donald Trump’s attitude

Yesterday’s, second in a row, temporary collapse of the ceasefire reminds once again how difficult the implementation of the Trump plan proves to be, as long as Hamas does not hand over all the bodies of the dead hostages, but also as long as questions remain unanswered about the organization’s disarmament, the composition and responsibilities of the multinational military “stabilization force” and the criteria for the emergence of the Palestinian technocrat government.

However, with regard to what happened between yesterday and this morning, the American president Trump justified the fierce Israeli operations, placing the blame on Hamas, which allegedly orchestrated the discovery of a dead hostage, actually delivering the bones of an Israeli citizen, whose body had already been recovered by the Israeli army two years ago. Trump also stressed that if Hamas “doesn’t behave properly, it will be destroyed”, reiterating that the ceasefire in Gaza as part of his peace plan will be maintained at all costs.
