A current British Metropolitan Police officer has been found guilty of trying to meet a 13-year-old girl for the purpose of sex.
François Allguez, who works in the counter-terrorism service, was found guilty on Thursday of three offenses related to seduction of a minor.
The 52-year-old is accused of trying to seduce a minor he met on the Internet, as reported in Her Daily Mail report.
In court, Alwage said he was working from home when he started talking to the girl, who was actually a police officer in pedophile tracking mission. They first talked on a web forum and then exchanged messages on WhatsApp.
There he learned that the girl’s name is Caitlin and she is 13 years old. He asked her: “Are you okay with what we are talking about, could I be your father?”.
Their conversations in October 2021 were now purely sexual in nature. After two weeks, they arranged to meet. “Caitlin” said she lived in Basinstoke in the south of England and that was where the appointment would take place.
Police arrested him at McDonald’s while he was trying to buy food for the girl. In the search, they found condoms, erection pills, lubricant and chocolate as a “gift” for the girl.
Prior to the meeting, Allweigz had written to Caitlin that because of her age, things could “take a very bad turn for both of us, break the law, lose my job, get welfare.” For this, as he wrote, “I do not want to meet for sex, so we will talk and spend time together.”
In court, the accused even denied having sexual desire for children. He claimed that he never believed that he was talking to a 13-year-old and that, on the contrary, he believed that the interlocutor was an adult who “plays” a role for some fantasy.
The court convicted him of trying to have sexual communication with a child, for inciting a 13-year-old to engage in sexual activity and attempting to communicate with a minor under the age of 16 after grooming. He also pleaded guilty to abuse of power over his work for sexual pleasure.
The accused will remain in custody until April 27, when the sentences will be announced.
