Ukraine has almost completed the completion of the questionnaire for the country’s accession to the European Union, said President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message late Friday night.
“The work is almost complete and we will soon deliver the answers to the EU delegation,” Zelenski explained.
The questionnaire serves as a basis for starting accession negotiations.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen handed out the questionnaire to Zelensky during her recent visit to Kyiv.
Ukraine applied to join the European Union shortly after the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.
The European Commission is currently examining the request. A country’s accession to the European Union is usually a time-consuming and complicated process. Even if the Commission gives a positive opinion, it may take some time for accession negotiations to begin.
However, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has promised to speed up the process.
