Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that his officials estimate that 2,500 to 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed to date in the war with Russia.

In an extensive interview with CNN, which aired on Friday, Zelensky also said that about 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been wounded, adding that “it is difficult to say how many of them will survive.”

On the other hand, he referred to the losses of the Russian forces, talking about 19,000 to 20,000 dead.

Moscow is officially talking about 1,350 dead soldiers.

Asked about videos that have come to light in recent days showing deaths and disasters in Ukraine, including one in which a mother appears to find her son’s body in a well, Zelensky said: “My pain is great! ».

“As a father, I can not see it. “Because all you want afterwards is to take revenge and kill,” he continued. “But I am obliged to see him as the president of a country where many people have died and lost loved ones, while there are millions of others who want to live.”

“We all want to fight,” Zelensky said. “However, we must all do what we can to ensure that this war is not endless. The longer it lasts, the more we will lose. “All these losses will be like that,” he said.
