Returns of refugees from Poland to Ukraine increase – Yesterday exceeded arrivals

The Polish border guard counted more people who left Polish territory for Ukraine yesterdaySunday, by those who entered Poland from the ruined by him war country.

The border guard reported today on Twitter that some 19,300 people had left Poland for Ukraine within 24 hours. About 17,300 people entered Poland from Ukraine during the same period, 10% less than the previous day.

According with UN figuresat least 2.81 million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring Poland since the Russian invasion began on February 24.

Those who return to Ukraine mainly in areas recaptured by the Ukrainian army, as Russian forces have retreat to the east.

There is no official information on how many refugees have stayed in Poland and how many have traveled to other EU member states.

Ukraine had a population of at least 44 million before the Russian invasion. Poland and Ukraine have borders that exceed 500 kilometers.
