British police closed a main road Londonnear the official residence of the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and announced that he had arrested a man, armed with a knife, who threatened two police guards of the Ministry of Defense.
Whitehall Street, home to many government buildings, including the Treasury Department, the State Department and the Department of Defense, which leads to Johnson’s official residence and office on Downing Street, has been cordoned off by police.

Police said they launched an investigation after an incident in Hors Gardens Paradea parade site overlooking St. James’s Park.
“Around 8.50, a 29-year-old man, who was armed with a knife, came face to face with two police officers of the Ministry of Defense. A teaser gun was used and the man was stopped by police. “There were no reports of injuries,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
The man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and possession of an assault rifle and remains in custody at a central London police station. The incident does not appear to be linked to terrorism, according to police.
