Alarm in Louisiana after chlorine leak from a chemical plant of the company Dow Chemical. Authorities ordered residents of the area to seek “shelter where they are” by closing windows and air conditioners. Louisiana State Police closed a freeway near the factory in both directions.

“Chlorine has been released at the Olin plant in Plakoumin. The emergency team at the factory was immediately engaged and we are working to stop the leak. Workers at the facility took immediate safety precautions as the team began work to address the situation. A shelter has been set up and local roads have been temporarily closed. We will provide additional information as soon as it is available. ”
