An “open possibility” for Alec Baldwin to continue facing charges over the death of filmmaker Halina Hutchins, according to sheriff estimates after the release of a series of documents and videos from their investigation into the fatal accident during the filming of Rust.
Appearing on Good Morning America on Tuesday, Sheriff Mendoza said it was not a given that there would be no criminal sanctions for the actor because in any case he was the one who held the gun.
It is recalled that the famous actor rehearsed for a scene on the set of the film on October 21, 2021, when he pulled his gun out of his suit, shot and hit 42-year-old Hutchins in the armpit, fatally injuring her.
Contrary to the regulations, the weapon was found to have a normal bullet.
So far, no one has been charged with the incident.

According to Santa Fe police, the investigation into the incident is still in progress. Authorities decided to release the files following requests from the media and because investigators wanted to show what information remained pending before the case was forwarded to prosecutors.
