Loud explosions in the Shevchenko district, east of the center of Kiev were heard on Thursday afternoon.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a rally in the Ukrainian capital, Kabul UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
According to Ukrainian media, the explosions are due to new Russian strikes in the area, without specifying the targets.
