The mayor of Mariupol said the bombs hit the factory’s campaign surgery.
“You already know that bombs were dropped on the hospital, air bombs destroyed the hospital, and this is a sign of war crime, because the number of wounded before that was 170 and now it is over 600,” said Mayor Vadim Boichenko on Ukrainian television.
The Azovstal plant was heavily bombed Wednesday night, according to multiple reports.
Boichenko also claimed that the Russians had set up four “filtration” centers in the city where those who want to evacuate are controlled.
“If someone leaves the city, and identifies in one way or another with the public, with the municipal service, he learns the sad news that he is going to jail. “Such people are being held and tortured there.”
He said that some families who wanted to reach Ukrainian territory were forced to go to areas controlled by Russia.
