In an indirect but clear sharp way, the Turkish embassy in Athens, the current day, said goodbye, via Twitter. Interview with US Ambassador Jeffrey Payat in “Kathimerini”.
Mr Payat said, among other things, that the United States needed to step up its efforts “to help prevent things from getting out of hand” during the summer 2020 crisis.
One of the unfortunate sins in the practice of diplomacy is called “going native”. It happens when you forget your own country positions and assume those of your hosts.

Without mentioning the interview or Mr. Payat by name, the embassy has posted a note stating that adopting the views of the country in which you are hosted is “one of the unfortunate sins of diplomacy.” He added that this “happens when you forget the positions of your country and adopt those of your hosts”.
This is not the first time that the Turkish embassy in Athens has made a critical post about the statements of diplomats regarding the Greek-Turkish issue and is part of the general perception that these are bilateral issues in which Ankara considers that third parties should not be involved.
