The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan continues efforts to arrange meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, Turkish Foreign Minister says Mevlüt Tsavousoglu after his visit to Latin American countries.
“Our president is negotiating with both leaders,” the Turkish minister was quoted as saying by Sabah.
“Erdogan’s only goal is to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and to build bridges between Putin and Zelensky, noted the Minister of Foreign Affairs. “We are sincerely moving forward with our efforts. “Our president communicates with them when needed, and they communicate with him.”
“NATO will give an answer”
“NATO will give an adequate answer in Russia in the event of an attack on one of its allies, “Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu was quoted as saying by Sabah.
“NATO’s position is clear,” he said. The alliance does not intend to get involved in the Ukrainian conflict, he noted, adding, however, that “in the event of an attack on any ally, we will respond adequately.”
Earlier, the Kremlin spokesman told TASS Dmitry Peshkov did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, but added that “it must be properly prepared for it to be fruitful.”
