by

British police announced today that has completed its investigation into the parties that took place during the lockdown for COVID-19 in the office of Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Downing Street and that it had imposed a total of 126 fines.

Johnson and Treasury Secretary Risi Sunak was among those fined last month for gathering at his office on the occasion of his 56th birthday in June 2020 when there was an almost universal ban on social gatherings. The revelation prompted calls from opposition politicians and some members of his own party to resign.

«Our investigation was thorough and objective and was completed as quickly as possible, given the amount of information that needed to be examined and the importance of ensuring that we had strong evidence for each referral for a fine.Said Helen Bowl, acting London police chief.

“Research completed”

Police said the fines relate to eight dates on which events took place on Downing Street and other government offices between May 2020 and April 2021, when lockdown measures were imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Of those fined, 53 were men and 73 were women, while some were fined more than one.
