In Greece, as an example of success in the field of digital transformation, the Margaret Vestagerspeaking at a joint online interview organized by the European Radio Network Euranet Plus.
Regarding the future of the digital transition in our country, Mrs. Vestager noted the “important digital infrastructure projects in Greece that are gradually expanding and more and more public services are becoming digital”.
Answering his question SKAI 100.3 for the steps forward and the digital transformation in Greece, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Competition and the Digital Age stated:
“I believe that Greece has taken many important steps. I often use the Greek example to say, look at what you can do and do it fast. For example, during the pandemic, citizens could say in a simple text message, “I’m going out for this purpose and now I have the authorization.”paperless and fast.
Secondly, the process for vaccines, also fully digital, but giving opportunities to the citizens, saying for example that your pharmacist will help you if you find it difficult or if you do not feel safe doing something digital, there will be people to help you.
And I think that’s exactly the way to go; to become fully digital but to make sure that if the citizen is thinking ‘I’m not sure, can I really handle that?’ to have people to help you to the end. So, I think that’s the way to go. ”
“I am impressed by the progress that has happened in the last 2-4 years in Greece,” the European official concluded.
