by

The American chain Starbucks, which had temporarily closed its 130 stores in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, announced this Monday (23) that it decided to leave the country permanently, thus following the path led by other multinationals such as McDonald’s.

The US company, which operated in Russia through a licensed partner, will continue to pay the salary of the 2,000 employees who worked in its stores for six months, the company said in a message on its website.

In total, more than 280 large companies with a significant presence in Russia have announced their withdrawal from the country, according to a survey by Yale University.
