by

Insurers who have seen increased adherence to policies for vacation homes because of the home office in the last year estimate that heating should continue in the post-pandemic period.

Allianz reported a 78% increase in the number of new policies for homes of the type in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020. More than half are new acquisitions.

Rio de Janeiro was the state with the highest growth, 200%, followed by Ceará, which doubled the volume, Santa Catarina (83%) and Paraná (82%), according to the company.

For the superintendent of mass products at Allianz, Ana Freitas, demand should continue to rise, driven by the consolidation of the trend of the hybrid work model.

Porto Seguro also registered growth in demand for the service. The manager of elementary branches, Marcel Tornero, also attributes the movement to the increase in the number of owners who put their properties for seasonal rent.

3 SEG recorded growth of 65% in 2020 in the volume of residential policies for high-end properties and, between January and October of this year, it doubled the portfolio driven by vacation homes.

The broker is also betting on the growth of the hybrid work model between entrepreneurs and top executives to keep the pace heated in 2022.
