Panel SA: PFF2 mask price returns to pre-pandemic level

by

The average unit price of PFF2 masks has returned to the pre-pandemic level, according to Animaseg (an association that brings together the work safety industry).

Manufacturers, who once sold the product for R$3 to R$9 at the peak of Covid, now sell for R$1, on average, says Raul Casanova Júnior, the entity’s executive director.

The new price level had already been practiced at the end of 2021, when some cities made the use of protection more flexible, but it rose again at the beginning of the year, with the advancement of the omni.

According to Casanova, demand also fell. He says he does not expect significant effects on the industry after the recommendation by the Covid-19 Contingency Committee, of the São Paulo government, to return to using protection in closed places.

Manufacturers have been organizing to ship part of the production abroad after the government announced the end of the health emergency, which prohibited the export of inputs used in the fight against Covid.
